WHAT'S NEW

RESEARCH FOR MOBILE LIFESTYLE OF NEXT DECADE - A CALL FOR ACTION

  • GMC (Global Mobile Congress) has become China's most authoritative and flagship R&D summit for future mobile communication technologies. Click here for GMC'06 accepted papers' list.

  • Delson Group Released the 4G Design Book with over 6000 pages' technical materials specialized in 4G and B3G technologies. It is an authoritative design handbook for the 4G/B3G engineers, designers, developers and researchers, comprising of newest design solutions from global leading industries and research institutions.

  • On March 21st in Stanford University, the Silicon Valley's Who's Whos, including founders of Sun, Yahoo, D.E. Shaw, Rambus, Netscape, Silicon Graphics, and over 200 eminent professors and technologists joined forces together in celebrating the 40 years' anniversary of SU's computer science, and defining the future technologies of computer science and communications engineering. One of the important conclusions from this very influential symposium is that the future computer architecture will be integrated into the wireless architecture, and making both architectures open is the only solution for this revolutionary integration ! The meeting was moderated by John Markoff, New York Times.

  • Breaking News from Beijing office of Prof. Willie W. Lu: China, at least,  will NOT issue 3G licenses before GMC'06, Oct.9-11 in Beijing ! "China will focus on 4G mobile R&D and innovation as one of the mission-critical strategies in the next decade", message from the 2006 People's Congress on March 6th, Beijing. In 2000 during 3Gwireless'2000 in San Francisco, Prof. Willie Lu predicted that "China will not issue 3G license before 2007", now it is almost the fact.

  • 2006 Special Training on 4G-OWA technologies is published in website. Please register ASAP as seats are very limited.

  • Over 100 eminent professors and industrial experts met together in University of California, Berkeley (U.C. Berkeley) on Feb.23rd for the 2006 Berkeley EECS Annual Research Symposium with theme "Looks to the Future - The Future of EECS". Many professors including Prof. Jan Rabaey and Prof. Willie Lu totally agreed that the future of wireless infrastructure will be based on open wireless architecture (OWA) with topics such as cognitive radio, spectrum recycling, background-calibrated ADC and ambient wireless router, etc. Prof. John Canny also stated that the future mobile phone will be a social platform with open system architecture supporting various technologies.

  • U.S. Office of Prof. Willie W. Lu announced the new IEEE Special Issue of "TECHNOLOGIES ON FUTURE CONVERGED WIRELESS AND MOBILITY PLATFORM" in IEEE Wireless Communications Magazine to be published in April 2007. Please click this link for more information on Call-for-Paper of this very important IEEE special issue. This issue is edited by Prof. Willie LU, Prof. Ping Zhang and Dr. Kai Miao, etc.

  • On-line paper cover submission and business panel submission are now open for the public. Please refer to "Call for Submission" for details.

  • DG released the 2006 "Mission 2020" R&D Plan on events to over 10 major medias in US, EU and Asia. Please download the published release of 2006 "Mission 2020" events by clicking this link.

  • The China GMC Mission is to help China define the future mobile communications technologies and standards. We will continue this very important mission till the year 2020.

  • GMC'2005 was EXTREMELY successful in Chongqing, China. Over 30 major medias including Xinhua News, CCTV, Chongqing Daily and China Finance have reported this very important mobile congress in China. For more information, please visit the GMC'2005 Snapshots page and GMC'2005 Media Reports page.

  • Under the "MISSION 2020 (R)" R&D Plan, approved by the board of Delson Group, the China GMC'2006 will be held in Beijing, the capital of People's Republic of China, to help build the region's future in next generation wireless and mobile communications focusing on long-term R&D strategy as well as emerging technical issues in the field. Delson Group is the legal owner and primary investor of the WWC, GMC and WMC missions in North America, East Asia and West Europe.

  • 2006 World Wireless Congress, San Francisco (WWC'06) will kickoff the important "Mission 2020" R&D Plan in wireless and mobile communications to define the future wireless technologies of year 2020 and beyond. Major "Fortune 500" wireless companies will be involved in this important program, and the WWC'06 will release the  official "Mission 2020 San Francisco Declaration". Click "WWC'06 Official Website" for more information.

  • Strongly supported by Chinese central government, the 2005 Global Mobile Congress is to help define the China's future mobile communication technologies. Over 40 highly influential decision-makers of China authorities and administrations will be joining this historic GMC'05 in Chongqing - the center of West China, together with over 500 senior experts and executives in the industry. Click "GMC'05 Official  Website" for more information.

  • Delson Group releases government strategic report on "WiMax in China: Unclear Future" after near 20 months' in-depth research with many authority officials and experts in the field. Report consultation available for primary sponsors only.

  • Breaking News /Shanghai, July 18th: China set long-term strategy of wireless communication industry on open wireless architecture (OWA) platform and service-oriented application platform for its next generation wireless and mobile communication technologies.

  • GMC'05 becomes the extremely important technical and R&D summit of China's emerging mobile communications focusing on China 3G (C3G) Rollout strategy and Network Optimization; "Mission 2020" R&D Plan of future Mobile Technologies, and Secured Networks and Systems for Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. For more details, please visit the GMC'05 webpage.

  • U.S. CWC started initial testing of 4G-OWA (Open Wireless Architecture) technology in USA and China to meet the rapidly increasing demand of the converged broadband wireless platform in the region. Many countries, including China and USA, will go OWA as a long-term strategy, and therefore the OWA business will be huge in the coming decade.

  • Over 20 "Fortune 500" leading industries agreed at the WWC'05 in Palo Alto that, Open Wireless Architecture (OWA) will become the most important communication convergence platform to support the future service-oriented infrastructure of information and communication technologies.

  • "China will not issue 3G License before 2006, and the initial 3G services will be limited in few important cities only by 2010. For long-term wireless strategy, China will go Open and Converged Wireless Platform," said Prof. Willie W. LU in Beijing, May 17, 2005.

  • In 2005 Wireless Investors Conference in San Francisco on April 29th, Prof. Willie W. Lu predicted that, in next decade, wireless industry will completely go open wireless platform architecture rather than the traditional closed single architecture standard. "Any single-architecture wireless system, including 3G, HSDPA, WiMax, etc, is a transitional solution only, and will be replaced by open wireless architecture system very soon where various different wireless standards can be integrated and converged on this open platform," said Prof. Lu.

  • Jointly organized with World Wireless Congress in United States and Global Mobile Congress in China, the World Mobile Congress in Europe helps the European industries to secure their global technical leadership across the three prestigious world-class platforms in the field.
